Powder coating is an advanced environmentally friendly method of applying a decorative and protective finish to a wide array of metal products. Powder coating is a dry coating system where an item is sprayed with electrically charged powder consisting of finely ground particles of pigment and resin. The charged powder adheres to the grounded item of metal until it is baked in an oven, where it fuses to the substrate. Powder coating results in a high quality, smooth, uniform, and durable finish. |
The Advantages and Benefits of Powder Coating

There are many advantages to powder coating. Powder coatings are tough monolithic armor and are extremely resistant to abrasion, heat, liquid penetration, de-icers, corrosion, UV rays and chemical attack. Powder coatings are also economical and environmentally friendly because they contain no solvents and emit virtually no hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) or volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Other benefits to powder coatings is that they provide a uniform long lasting finish with no runs, or other surface defects. They can be used for various metal substrates and can be formulated for color, gloss, texture and high temperature. |

THOMARIOS utilizes 36,000 square feet of temperature-controlled space where the preparation, coating and curing takes place. This in addition to our quality control team helps ensure a superior product for our customers. The Plant is located on 9 acres of land comprising of large concrete pads for lay down, handling and packaging. Housed within the facility is a 50ft. x 12ft. x 10ft. abrasive blast booth used to prepare the surfaces. A 50ft long powder booth, where the powder coating is applied and a 52 ft. long curing oven. The unique area and capacity of our facility allows for us to specialize in and handle large heavy duty items used both in industrial and commercial industries. |

THOMARIOS Powder Coating Group specializes in a batch process. This sets us apart from the competition by allowing us to handle large, heavy items. We have the capability to treat a 50ft long x 8ft. wide x 8ft tall piece. Most powder coating facilities are geared toward using a continuous conveyor belt application, which limits them on size and weight. THOMARIOS on the other hand implements forklifts that can handle pieces up to10,000 lbs along with customized process carts. Our process also utilizes a self reclaiming abrasive blast booth for surface preparation, instead of using hazardous phosphate cleaners. This process insures the maximum adhesion properties for the coating. The efficiency of our operation allows for a quick turnaround to our customers without sacrificing product quality. For special fast track orders we have been able to generate an 8-hour door-to-door product. From receiving to shipping, we guarantee the product to be prepared coated and inspected properly giving you the product that you paid for. |
