Power Coating
The Process
Ours is a batch process. This allows for large and heavy elements
to be treated through our line.
Our process sets us apart from the rest of the competition. While
the majority of the powder coating industry is geared for continuous
conveyor belt application, we are among the top five largest capacity
batching plants in the country. We have the capacity to treat
a 50 ft. long x 8 ft. wide x 8 ft. tall part.
- Pre-Treatment A 50 ft. x 12 ft. x 10 ft. blast booth
is available to prepare the substrate to specified requirements.
- At the 50 ft. long powder booth our operator(s) apply the
powder coating using a spray gun with an electrode that ionizes
the powder (negative charge). The workpiece (part) is grounded
(positive charge), and from the basic principle opposites
attract, the airborne particles uniformly coat the part.
- The 52 ft. long curing oven receives the powder coated part,
and at a pre-determined temperature and time, the chemical reaction
of the powder components takes place, creating a uniform and
monolithic coating.
